Jennifer Magee: Co-Founder + CEO
Jennifer Magee has a unique dual background in architecture and real estate development, receiving her Masters in Real Estate Development from Columbia University (2005) and her Masters of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati (1998). As both an architect and real estate development consultant in New York City, Jennifer understands the building process in its entirety, from how deals are made to how buildings are built. Furthermore, she recognizes the need to make this fragmented and specialized process more cohesive. Jennifer sees UPworld as the next step in professional networking, bringing the building process online and allowing professionals to share their knowledge and expertise as well as create new business opportunities. She attributes her success as an architect and real estate developer to her readiness to embrace new technology, which allows her to communicate ideas and transmit information both easily and effectively.
Oisin Clancy: Co-Founder + CSO
Oisin Clancy runs a boutique architectural design firm FieldLines in New York City, receiving his Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in 2000. His firm believes in proactive environmentalism and currently has projects in the United States, Ireland, and Jamaica. Oisin created UPworld with a strong desire to share his knowledge and expertise with others, a desire which he demonstrated through his work experience in Ireland, Hong Kong, and the Philippines and as an adjunct professor for several universities in New York. His firm seeks to work closely with its clients to find the most practical, innovative, affordable, and environmental solutions to their needs. Oisin takes this same approach to UPworld, helping each and every member get the most out of their UPworld connections.
Christina Tu: Member Relations + Content Coordinator
As UPworld's Member Relations and Content Coordinator, Christina Tu encourages members to use UPworld to market their skills and services in order to connect to other professionals and new project opportunities. Christina currently attends the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree on a full-tuition scholarship. Her strong focus on the latest technology fuels her desire to keep UPworld both up-to-date and user friendly. She encourages UPworld members to utilize all of the services offered through the site and is available to help any member understand UPworld's benefits.
Frank Russo: VP of Business Development
Frank Russo has over 20 years of executive leadership in business-to-business media. Frank has always been on the cutting edge of technology and best practices, bringing together deep domain expertise in manufacturing and construction, information technology, and hands-on management. Frank is responsible for generating over $5 million in successful new business launches at ThomasNet and McGraw Hill's Construction.com, both inside and outside of the U.S. He played a major role in creating one of the largest e-commerce ventures, operating today as Global Exchange Services, and a successful online marketplace MFG.com. Along with serving as UPworld's VP of Business Development, Frank runs his own consultancy practice RoughWave Advisory Group, providing business, web, and marketing services to help businesses grow online.
Arkady Fridman: Advisor, Interactive Sales
Arkady Fridman brings over 10 years of experience in technology, consumer and business-to-business media sales to UPworld in an advisory capacity. Arkady has been involved in various aspects of interactive media, from building out the fiber-optic information highway with Metromedia Fiber Networks (now Abovenet.com) to managing an in house media network of interactive sales people at Nielsen Business Media. During his four year tenure at Nielsen, Arkady started out selling across all media products at Billboard Information Group (www.Billboard.com) and later worked with 8 international brands within the Nielsen Business Media umbrella responsible for over $8 million in advertising revenue. Arkady also worked for Hoovers.com as their Online Regional Sales Director where he developed and sold custom online advertising campaigns to clients and agencies, including IBM, Sprint, Staples, Continental and several others. He recently worked for Technorati Media the largest social media ad network as the Director of Ad Sales on the East Coast. Arkady is presently the East Coast Sales Director for Live Nation Network, one of the largest live entertainment companies and a top 10 Music and Entertainment Network.
Peter Wilk: VP of Communications
Peter Wilk brings over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications to UPworld. Within his career, he has publicized nearly $10 billion worth of real estate, development, financing, and construction projects worldwide. Peter spent over 5 years as Tishman's Associate Director of Marketing and Communications before starting his own company Wilk Communications in 2003. Peter has now brought his extensive expertise and industry knowledge to UPworld, providing for and managing all of our media coverage. Anita Modha: Groups and Events Coordinator
Anita Modha is instrumental in building UPworld's media and strategic partnerships with various Conferences, Trade Shows, and Networking Organizations. She is focused on identifying and scheduling both online and offline event marketing activities, and she represents UPworld at these partner events. Anita's unique skill set helps her combine online marketing with community building on the UPworld site. Anita wrote her thesis in 2005 on social networking, and she worked as Marketing Coordinator for the online social networking site Urban Mixer. Anita has extensive training in graphic design and industrial design, and she currently owns a wallpaper design company Rollout with her partner Jonathan. She works directly with architects, fabricators, contractors, interior designers, and other product people, so she understands the needs of the industry firsthand.
Rica Villanueva: Online Marketing Coordinator
Rica Villanueva is an expert in online networking. She joined UPworld last year to spearhead our marketing efforts and has been instrumental in building industry relationships and reaching out to professional organizations worldwide. Rica taps into existing Internet user groups and develops strategic alliances with other organizations and groups by offering mutually beneficial partnerships and co-marketing opportunities. Rica carries a degree in International Trade from the University of Miami and an MBA from UCLA. She actively coaches and educates people about the benefits of online marketing. |
