I agree with you, IPD is largely an "old" concept but perhaps it is repackaged in a more meaningful way for today? It seems like the other attempts to get construction (AEC) to work as a team didn't really. Perhaps with BIM AND IPD some new efficiencies might be on the horizon. But just like for many other industries I think the future is demanding that we get a whole lot more efficient. IPD is probably another step, but it too will pass.</description>

Two quick, initial thoughts on IPD (from one who should have, but hadn't, heard of it before now).

1. Wasn't this meeting-of-minds for construction projects called "partnering" in the nineties?

2. Won't there be confusion with IDP (AIA's Intern Development Program)?

I don't wanna sound like and old dog resisting the new tricks, but golly!
