I think one thing people discount, or are maybe afraid to do, is just ask. I'm always looking for experts to interview because I'm always looking for fresh content. But if I don't ask, I never know. The worst case is someone will just say no, but most of the time people want to talk about the things that interest them. Just don't ask them to buy stuff!
