Lake Taupo is a town of 33,000 residents and we are central North Island so we are a tourist destination so there is a lot to do here. We have skydiving, jet boats, lake charters for just cruising or fishing for that fat rainbow trout, we have skiing at National Park only 1.5 hours away. We are called the events capital of NZ as we hold the New Zealand Ironman here in March and we also have the Great Lake Relay Challenge, the Great Lake Cycle Challenge, Day Nighter Cycle Race, and lots lots more.
