Home performance contractors use building science principles and performance testing to identify and solve thermal comfort and indoor air quality problems in existing homes, while significantly reducing energy bills and creating satisfied clients and homeowners.
This class in our Green Home Energy Upgrades series is for residential architects and designers who want an introduction to the house-as-a-system approach, which is fundamentally different from prescriptive (checklist- or menu-based) green remodeling programs. CBPCA trainer and home performance expert Rick Chitwood explains basic building science principles and methods and describes why and how to incorporate them into residential remodeling projects. This full-day class qualifies for 6 AIA continuing education credits (HSW).
This class is intended for architects or designers who are involved in remodeling or energy improvement to existing single-family homes, but will also benefit residential energy consultants and real estate professionals.
