The ground floor materials have a geological character: granite, concrete, water, over which the steel framed building is 'perched'.
65 Eaton Place, SW1
High quality stone and timber floors and custom built furniture are set against the exposed concrete soffits of the floor slabs and the supporting columns.
Public Toilets, Gravesend
This eye catching structure in a central car park in Gravesend has a roof of folded concrete, that was poured in one go. Its shape resembles an alien spacecraft that has come to rest on a granite cliff in a science fiction novel, but in reality it’s only a public toilet. The basic form of the building is derived from the slope and topography of the site and the irregular site boundary. The roof is a distorted and dislocated cantilever plate consisting of four triangular profiles that slope inwards. The design has provided an efficiently planned public building and a landmark structure for Gravesend.
