1. How can UPworld help me?

UPworld provides an easy-to-use platform for real estate and building professionals to network online and connect to each other for job and business opportunities. Members create complimentary online profiles and project portfolios, showcase their skills and expertise, network with one another, and establish valuable business connections.

As an individual, you can set up a profile on UPworld for free and post images of your company's projects in your portfolio space, making these projects viewable to other UPworld members. You can also directly invite friends and colleagues to sign up for UPworld.

UPworld enables you to present yourself and your professional capabilities to others, find new colleagues and people to work with, build a network of trusted professionals, and discover new professional relationships and opportunities.

UPworld can be an invaluable resource for you in building your professional relationships and achieving your goals.

2. What do I get with UPworld's free basic membership?

As a basic member, you get access to the following services

• My Profile - Set up a member profile to showcase your skills and expertise to other professionals. Present your credentials and share your career goals as well.
• My Portfolio - Choose to display Professional Work, Property, or Products. Upload images and include details of your best projects.
• My Network - Invite other members into your professional network and share contact information directly. Invite your colleagues to join UPworld, and they will be added directly to your network.
• Marketplace - Add new postings to the Marketplace or browse and reply to postings that interest you. Categories include Jobs, Partners/Deals, RFPs/Bids, Services Offered, and General Postings.
• Events - Check out the latest industry-related events, including Conferences & Expos, Meetings & Programs, Exhibitions, and Networking Events. You can also add your own events to the UPworld calendar.

3. Who can view my profile on UPworld? How much will they see?

UPworld members in your network can see your full profile and contact information. UPworld members outside your network and non-UPworld members can see your full profile, excluding your network and your contact information.

4. Am I going to get spam?

No. We have designed UPworld so that it minimizes spam. This is why we hide your email and other contact information in your profile except to members in your network. We also will never sell your address to anyone for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for additional details.

5. Are my colleagues and friends going to get spam?

No. UPworld does not send email to your colleagues and friends without your permission. However, if you contact another member through UPworld's website, we will send an email to that member on your behalf.

6. I can't remember my password. How do I sign in?

In order to sign in, you must enter the email address you registered with when you joined and your password. If you cannot remember your password, you can have it resent to you by clicking here. If you can't remember your email address, please contact us by clicking here.

7. Why do I invite other people to My Network?

Invite people that you want to have a strong connection with. When you are accepted into someone's network, you can view their contact information and communicate with them directly via email, phone, etc. You can also view the people in their network. You should only choose people who you want to work with and who will be a good addition to your network. Generally, you should invite those you know and trust.

8. What is an UPworld profile? Why do I want one?

Your profile is a summary view of your professional experience, interests, and capabilities. Your profile is visible to other UPworld users. A completed profile helps communicate to others what professional skills and expertise you have to offer.

9. How do I edit My Profile?

Your profile can be updated at any time by clicking on the various blue Edit links in the headings of the different sections of your profile. You can access your profile by clicking on the "My Profile" link on the left side of the page under the My Info tab.

10. How do I change my email address or password for login?

Click the "My Profile" link on the left side of the page under the My Info tab. Click on "Edit My Profile" near the top of your profile. In order to change your email address, go to "Contact Info," scroll down, and add your new email. Then go to "Account Info," click on "Change Email," and select your new email address. You can delete your old email address by going back to "Contact Info." In order to change your password, go to "Account Info," click on "Change Password," and enter both your old password and your new password. Next time you try to sign in to UPworld, you will have to use your new email address and/or your new password to access the site.

Basic Account>

I accidentally created 2 accounts, meaning I joined twice. Can I merge them?

Unfortunately we are unable to merge accounts. We suggest you transfer all your information to one account and then contact us to close your other account by clicking here.

I no longer want to be a member. How do I close my account?

You will need to contact us directly to close your account by clicking here. Please note that when we close an account, you will lose all the information in that account, including your profile information, portfolio, and network connections.

Why do I keep getting logged out of the website?

Generally this occurs because your browser does not accept cookies. In order to remain logged in over a long duration, your browser must accept cookies.

How can I find out how many messages I have?

Once you sign in to UPworld, you will get a notification telling you how many new messages you have received on the top right of the page. You may view your messages under the "My Messages" link under the My Info tab on the top left of the page.

My Profile>

What information should I include in My Profile?

You should include as much information as possible that gives a full picture of who you are professionally. This increases your exposure and improves your chances for being contacted by other UPworld members. By default, every UPworld member has a basic public profile that shows their Name, City, Company Name, Title, Industry, and Profession.

How can I promote My Profile on UPworld?

Make sure your profile is completely filled out and that you have uploaded a photo of yourself . If you have work to showcase, also make sure you have added project images to your portfolio. The more complete your profile is, the higher you will place in search results. What is My Portfolio?

My Portfolio is a feature that allows you to showcase any of your property, products, or profesional work online. You can easily upload images to your portfolio directly and provide details to accompany each image.

My Network>

What is My Network?

Your network is defined as a group of UPworld members who you have invited to your network or who have invited you to their network, and the invitations have been accepted. You have access to the contact information of anyone in your network at any time. You can also view the members in their network.

How is My Network different than the UPworld network?

The UPworld network includes all users who have joined UPworld as members. You can search amongst these professionals and contact them through the UPworld messaging system. You can invite any professional you meet on UPworld to your network. You can contact professionals in your network directly by email, phone, etc.

Who can invite me to join their network?

Anyone who is a member of UPworld can extend you an invitation to join their network. You should only accept the invitations you want.

How do I invite someone to My Network?

When you find a member you want to invite, just click the link "Invite to My Network" above their profile and follow the instructions. If they accept your invite, they will be automatically added to your network and you will be added to theirs. You will then have access to one another's contact information and networks.

How do I remove a person from My Network?

To remove a person from your network, go to "My Network" on the left side of the page under the My Info tab. Next to the person's profile you would like to delete, click the "+Remove" tag, follow the directions, and the person will be removed from your network.

Connecting with Other UPsters>

How do I see who else is on the UPworld network?

You may browse through the profiles of other UPsters by clicking on the People tab. You can narrow your search by industry or region, and even specifically indicate profession or city.

How do I find people to fulfill specific requests?

You can submit a Posting that gets posted publicly on the UPworld marketplace. The posting should describe your particular needs and can be categorized under Jobs, Partners/Deals, RFPs/Bids, Services Offered, or General Postings. Members that meet your qualifications or have an interest in your request can then reply directly to your posting. You must be an UPworld member to make or respond to a posting.

What are my options for connecting with other UPsters?

UPworld members can connect to each other in 3 main ways:

• By inviting another member directly to his or her network through the "Invite to My Network" link in that person's profile.
• By sending a message directly to another member through the "Send a Message" link in that person's profile.
• By making a Posting and have other members respond through the "Respond to Posting" link under each Marketplace posting.

How can I look for members in only 1 region of the world or in 1 city?

Click on the People tab and browse "By Region." Under "Select a Location to Browse,"choose the city in which you would like to find professionals.

How can I look for people in only 1 industry, such as Design?

You can look for people in a specific industry either by clicking on 1 of the 8 colored industry tags at the top of the page or by selecting "By Industry" under the People tab. This will give you a full list of the professions that fall under each industry. Click on any of the profession links to then view all members under that category.

Who can contact me through UPworld?

Anyone who is a member of UPworld can send you a message through the website. A copy of the message is also sent to your email.

Postings>

How do I view new Postings?

You may browse through Postings made by other UPworld members by clicking on the Marketplace tab at the top of the page. You may also choose to receive email alerts for new postings. Go to "My Preferences" under the My Info tab in order to select the type of postings that interest you.

What do I use the Marketplace for?

You can add new postings that fall under the following categories: Jobs, Partners/Deals, RFPs/Bids, Services Offered, and General Postings. Other UPworld members who are interested in your posting can contact you directly through the listing. You, too, can reply to postings that interest you.

How can I be sure that my privacy will be protected?

UPworld is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who use our services. UPworld does not give out your email address or other personally identifiable information to other users or third parties without your permission. Access to your data on UPworld is also password-protected. View our Privacy Policy to learn more.

Who can see my email address?

UPworld will never share your email address with another member, unless you both choose to contact each other and share this information. We do not recommend that you post your email address in your UPworld profile except where noted. Otherwise, you will have less control over who obtains it and how it might be used.

Who can see information about my contacts?

Any member who is in your network can see a list of the other people in your network when they view your UPworld profile. This feature makes it possible for you to browse the connections of members in your network. For this reason, you should only invite people to your network that you know and trust.

What if I get contacted by people I don't want?

You can simply ignore or politely decline the message or invitation. If you receive a message from someone you don't know that you find annoying, intrusive, or abusive, you also have the option of reporting that message to us as inappropriate by contacting us here. We use such reports to help detect possible misuse of the UPworld system.
