Gernot Riether Studio is based in Brooklyn, New York and Vienna, Austria. Currently the studio is working on planning, private and commercial projects in Europe and the US. The studio is specialized in sustainable design strategies and new building technologies. Gernot Riether continues this research at architecture schools: Over the past four years he taught studios and seminars at NYIT, New York Institute of Technology and Columbia and Barnard Colleges at Columbia University. In Spring 2007 he coordinated the Solar Decathlon project at NYIT one of 18 internationally invited teams to build an energy-efficient solar-powered house on the Mall in Washington, D.C.. He also serves as guest critic at Cooper Union, Princeton University and Pratt Institute.
