Lorna Auerbach Designs, LLC
President
Privately-held
I have been designing and developing high end custom residential properties since 1995. What sets me apart from most other designers and design product purveyors is that I have been professionally involved in every aspect of real estate development from land acquisition to development, to design, construction, marketing, management and sales of multi-million dollar commercial and residential projects, and have invested my own money to do speculative projects.

Formerly called Lorna Auerbach Associates, a DBA of Auerbach Commercial Realty Corp.

Lorna Auerbach Designs, LLC was formed in 2008 to introduce Spain’s premier antique reproduction tile artisan to the US and Canadian design community. Lorna Auerbach Designs is the exclusive representative of Ceramica Antigua Reproducciones located in the Andalusian region of Spain. Lorna Auerbach Designs is based in Santa Monica, California and specializes in sourcing and importing authentic antique architectural elements for high-end custom homes.

Lorna Auerbach Design is the primary source for projects which use traditional Spanish, Moorish, South American, Mexican and early California architectural details and building elements.

Experience Level

Expertise: Lorna’s fluency in Spanish, frequent travel to Spain and and long term relationships with the antique dealers and artisans of the region inspired the formation of this enterprise. In addition to representing Ceramica Antigua Reproducciones, Lorna sources and imports authentic Spanish architectural antiques including doors and wrought iron grill work from Spain, Mexico, Central and South America. She has worked extensively with award winning architect Richard Landry on major projects and with renowned California designers Madeline Stewart and Sue Firestone, providing tile and tile murals for their Andalusian style projects in Los Angeles and in Santa Barbara.

Lorna has traveled extensively throughout Spain, Mexico and Morocco studying the architecture and design of these countries. Casa Miraflores, one of her projects, appears to be several hundred years old because it incorporates so many of these found elements brought back from Spain and South America, such as antique ornamental wrought iron window grills, a massive 18th century wooden gate, tropical mahogany columns and corbels from an old Colombian hacienda and enormous interior shuttered doors also from Colombia. The authenticity is evident in their hand made imperfections and patina.

Skills: Having been involved in every aspect of real estate development, Lorna appreciates the need for functionality and affordability as well as the desire for great original design.
